On 16th January 2026, Dr Pred Evans, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, delivered an online lecture on Social Enterprise in Thailand to Japanese students at a Japanese high school in Japan, as part of a partnership our faculty has with the education and cultural international organisation With The World.

The Japanese students are involved in projects focussed on deisgning solutions to social issues, and Dr Evans offered tips to the students on how to approach their projects from a systems-thinking perspective.

Our third year student Hana Shirai joined to share her experience of SPD with the students in Japan. The feedback on the lecture and on Hana’s presentation was very positive, and we hope to see a wave of interest from Japan in our programme soon! We are currently working with With The World on building partnerships with their network of over 300 high schools in Japan.
