Public Lecture on Building Safe School Environments by Dr. Rami Benbenishty

On 20th November, 2025, Dr. Rami Benbenishty, Emeritus Professor at Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare, Hebrew University, Israel delivered a public lecture at the Faculty of Social Administration on “Bullying and Violence in School: Building a Safe Environment”.

Organised and moderated by Dr Pred Evans, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, students from SPD as well as academics and students online, including students at a school where our SPD alumnus teaches in Thailand, learnt about the Listening to the Voices model, designed by Prof. Benbenishty, an approach which involves the school community in a welcoming, empowerment and monitoring framework, based on data collection, to tackle bullying and violence within schools globally. Prof. Benbenishty also explained how theory, research, practice and policy intersect in this essential and valuable field of study.
