On 28 October, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Auschala Chalayonnavin, Dean of the Faculty of Social Administration at Thammasat University, signed a new student exchange agreement with Kempten University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Vice-President for Internationalisation and Equal Opportunities, Professor Dr. Arthur Kolb, signed on behalf of Kempten University of Applied Sciences.
Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Dr. Pred Evans, together with Mr Kevin Cook and colleagues on the Committee for International Affairs, have remained in close and regular contact with colleagues at Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Dr Bernd Holzhauser and Prof. Dr. Marcus Zinsmeister, since the original Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2024, and this signals the first concrete programme which begins immediately, with students from Kempten University already scheduled to join our BA in Social Policy and Development International Programme in January 2026.
We look forward to seeing our students seize this opportuntity to expand their horizons, as yet another student exchange opportunity to add to the growing portfolio of study abroad programmes we already offer our students, from Singapore to California, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK. In this agreement, students will receive guaranteed accommodation near to the campus of Kempten University, will be able to engage with a global body of students, and even take up German classes if they wish, all while engaging in subjects related to social policy, social welfare and social development at The Faculty of Social and Health Studies.
We also look forward to using this new agreement as a springboard for further collaboration with our partner in Germany, including academic research collaboration, potential study visits and collaborative projects related to Smart City governance, and joint international seminars and conferences, as well as guest lectures.
